Will Hillary ever run out of steam?

August 11, 2007 by Jeff Pritchard

To date, the presidential race on the Republican side has been pure mayhem. Nobody can tell who is the front-runner, who can raise the proper funds, who is the “true conservative”. This is very out of character for the GOP who usually has one person stand out at the beginning of the race and ultimately gets the nomination.

The Democrats are also acting completely out of character. In the Democratic primary race, usually the front-runner will change several times. In other words the Democratic Nominee is usually unpredictable at this point. This makes one wonder: If the Democrats have a track record of not sticking with one front-runner throughout the primary season, then why did Hillary start out front, and remain out front to this very day?

This is a question that boggles many people on both sides of the political spectrum, because Hillary doesn’t appeal to either Liberals or Independents. It seems though Hillary has the most support behind her, she also has the largest number of people who absolutely will not vote for her. Many liberal democrats, myself included, have openly said that they would rather support a third party candidate for president than Senator Clinton.

Throughout all of this resistance against her, she maintains to out-poll Barack Obama and John Edwards by double-digits. Obama and Edward’s camp are saying in a matter of time that her numbers will sink and theirs will rise. However one has to wonder that if her numbers haven’t faltered yet, when will they?

I hope that soon enough the Clinton supporters will wake up and smell the coffee. To run as someone who is going to clean up Washington, and then to take money from lobbyists, is completely unacceptable. I would gladly accept any other candidate for the nomination other than Senator Clinton. She will be an easy target for the well organized GOP smear machine, and in my opinion, will hurt, not help, our chances at the White House in 2008.

To answer your very first question without going into anything else, no, she will not run out of steam.

When you say things like “she’s awful,” its good etiquette to explain why you hold that viewpoint.

Very well written, my Jeffrey. I’m befuddled as to why, when she has the most amount of people who don’t like her, she has the highest percent in the polls. It’s so weird. Eh, any-hoo, Barack is my hero.

    Love ya!

What do you believe qualifies Barack to be President? We’ve seen firsthand the effects of on-the-job experience.

Well, technically speaking nobody has on-the-job experience for being president. So 4 more years in the Senate is what Hillary’s big “Barack is inexperienced” angle is based on?

    Thomas Senecal Reply:

Barack has 3 years in the Senate and Hillary has had 7, plus 8 years as first lady during which time she lead several campaigns for Bill. It’s the years as first lady that is her key experience.

And when I said “on the job experience”, I mean on the job training, as we have seen with bush
