Bush Declares War on Iran, Sort Of

August 15, 2007 by Joshua Davis

Knowing the congress would not approve of an invasion of Iran, Bush has labeled a segment of the Iranian army as terrorists. This means that anyone who aids the Iranian Revolutionary Guard is aiding a terrorist which is a crime. It also makes it easier for Bush to go after them military.

Of course the DoD (which is becoming more like a campaign machine everyday) has claimed the Revolutionary Guard is supplying weapons and men to the Shia’s Mahida army in Iraq. I suppose we’re all supposed believe that just like we did about those WMDs. And when I say the DoD is like a campaign machine, it seems half of what it does is to improve the Bush administrations image. For example one of my family members works for the NGA, which is part of the DoD. According to that person, they have televisions in every room that plays a steady stream of Bush’s speeches. But I’ll get off that rabbit trail into 1984.

I wonder if there’s anything the congress can do about this. Maybe they should create a law that voids the previous terrorist organization list, and creates a new one, where each organization must be approved by the congress. As for permanently fixing the executive law mess, it should be that congress has the ability to veto presidential acts, but until they do so it is law.

Another not surprising load of bull from the suits upstairs.

“A US plan to designate Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist group has been described as worthless propaganda.”

I don’t think you can consider something that can not only destabalise the already chaotic middle east, but the entire world.

“It is thought the move is designed to pacify those in the US who want military action against Tehran.”

…Pacify those in the US who want military action? Why don’t we pacify those people by telling them… I don’t know… Truth?

“Critics of the US, however, believe it was the US invasion and occupation of Iraq that led to its destabilisation.”

Well, I’m not gonna say that WE are the reason the country was knocked off its rocker. But I will quote Bill Maher from last nights interview with Larry King:
MAHER: “I don’t think so. I think what we did was we took a situation that was manageable, which is there are certain — there was a certain small percentage of crazy, religious Islamics who wanted to kill us. They didn’t like us too much to begin with. Israel bothered them a lot.

But then when we had troops in the holy land, that was just a bridge too far. So they started to attack us and they ramped it up. And finally we had a real attack on 9/11.

    OK. That was bad.

But we could have gone after that in a way that didn’t make it much, much worse. That’s what they did by going into Iraq.

See if this analogy makes sense. There are certain types of cancer that you can’t operate on them, because it just makes it worse. I remember, because my father had it. Lung cancer is one of them.

OK. That’s what we had with these Islamic nuts over there, bin Laden and his crew. That was a cancer. But by operating, by opening up the chest cavity, we spread it and made it a lot worse.”
So, what I have gotten from all of the articles I have read about this is that this is either propaganda to keep the war hungry Americans blood lust down a bit or is Bush digging our “War for Imperialism” hole a little deeper.
